Mission
Our mission at Lathice is to promote health literacy so people can make better health choices for themselves, their loved one, their communities, and the environment.

From donors to provider and volunteers, Lathice is a hub for the community to leave things better than they found them.
In 2023, Lathice was able to provide care and education to hundresds of families in Central and North America.

Personal Health Literacy
Personal health literacy is the individual ability to find, understand, and use information and services to take health-related decisions and actions for themselves, their communities and the environment.Organizational Health Literacy
Organizational health literacy is the organizational ability to equitably enable personal health literacy through clear communication, ease of navigation, support for patient engagement and self-magagement.Notes
The definition of health literacy was updated in August 2020 for the new iteration of the U.S. Healthy People 2030 initiative. Our LATHICE leaders participated in the update to include the responsibility organizations have in promoting individuals’ health literacy.
